Luke, Lee, Vance, Hank, Eddie, Matt, Mace and, what I realized was not coincidental, Tex, the wild-eyed coffee guy from Fortnum’s. I double parked the Caddy (because there were no spaces on the street) right outside my front door and saw over the roof of Luke’s Porsche the Bad Boy Brigade standing in my front yard all wearing scary faces and all those faces turned to the Caddy as it stopped. What looked like Eddie’s red Ram was there, a black GMC truck, several black Ford Explorers and a black Toyota 4Runner. My street was filled with cars, big, shiny ones (except for Luke’s Porsche and a Crossfire, they weren’t big, just shiny). I turned onto my block and my stomach clenched.

I did some deep breathing and pointed us home. I finally figured out where we were and this made some of my panic and adrenalin subside. it was good.I found it bizarre that I would hear the name “Tex” twice in one day when I had never known a Tex in my whole life. Maybe a second reading in a few months will bring a different view of the book but for right now. I get that even back when they were kids she loved him and he knew she was special but.I just have this funny after taste with this book. Our favorite characters from books past were can't explain other than I wanted more for him. It can be devastating when the shock wears off and what has happened enters your reality. I give props to KA for handling this in a truthful if somewhat uncomfortable way. Action and drama Ava is kidnapped and molested by her ex-pro scammer boyfriend. They had some good chats and one liners, Good Ava and Bad Ava having their debates could be amusing. And yes, even though she's a knock out now all those "Fatty Fatty Four Eyes" insecurities still have their hooks in her. You know the whole.someone finally said one thing too many and I am going to show them kind of situation. We know Luke is a badass and now Ava had "remade" herself. But Luke had a soft spot for Ava, she was smart and could make him laugh when no one else would even dare talk to him.

She was the chubby, smart one while they were the Bombshell Barlow sisters, they had the looks and attitudes. When he was a youngster he had a neighbor, Ava, who had a neglectful mother and two bitches for sisters. Other than Lee Nightingale he's the supreme badass in the Hot Bunch gang, to me anyway. From the prior books I fell in love with Luke Stark.
